Colombian Coffee

Colombian coffee is renowned for its quality, thanks to ideal growing conditions—high altitudes, rich volcanic soil, and a temperate climate. Working with the local farms, they hand-pick each bean to ensure only the ripest cherries are selected, producing a clean, vibrant cup with complex flavours.

Colombian coffee is known for its well-balanced flavour, often featuring notes of caramel, chocolate, citrus and red fruits. Depending on the region and processing method, you may also find floral, nutty or even tropical fruit undertones. These coffees typically have a smooth body and vibrant acidity, making them incredibly versatile.

Colombian coffee is not necessarily stronger in terms of caffeine content, as caffeine levels depend on the coffee variety and roast profile. However, its rich, full-bodied flavor and pronounced acidity can create a bold taste experience. If you prefer a stronger brew, opt for our Colombian Rich Roast or a higher coffee-to-water ratio.

Colombian coffee is highly versatile and works well across different brewing methods. For a bright, clean cup, try a pour-over method like a V60 or Chemex. If you prefer a fuller body, a cafetiere or AeroPress is a great choice. Espresso lovers will appreciate how Colombian coffee's caramel sweetness and balanced acidity shine in espresso-based drinks. Most Colombian coffee undergoes washed processing, where the coffee cherries are pulped, fermented, washed and then dried. This method enhances clarity and highlights the coffee’s bright acidity and fruity flavours. However, some farms also experiment with natural or honey processing, which can add more body and fruit-forward notes to the cup.

The caffeine content in Colombian coffee is similar to other arabica coffees, typically ranging from 1.2% to 1.5% caffeine per bean.

Colombian coffee is known for its bright acidity, floral and fruity notes, and clean, balanced flavours. Brazilian coffee, on the other hand, tends to have lower acidity and a fuller body with nutty, chocolatey, and caramel-like flavours. While both origins offer excellent coffee, Colombian beans are often preferred for their complex acidity, whereas Brazilian coffee is popular for its smooth, rich texture.

Like all high-quality coffee, Colombian coffee is rich in antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation and support overall health. Moderate coffee consumption has been linked to benefits such as improved brain function, increased metabolism and a lower risk of certain diseases like Parkinson’s and Type 2 diabetes.
