Nandi County AA is a characteristically rich washed coffee from the Muge family at Priory Farm, Nandi Hills, in the West of Kenya. Blackcurrant, cola and cocoa flavours merge to produce a distinctly deep and robust cup.

Priory Farm is 1,800 MASL and has a unique terroir. The farm experiences extremely hot days and chilly nights.  These particular conditions, combined with the Muge family's meticulous agronomy practices, result in coffee beans with delicious flavour profiles.

As is typical of the region, Nandi County AA has an abundance of flavour. Blackcurrant sweetness, cola earthiness and cocoa depth all make an unforgettable cup of coffee.

Nandi Hills, Nandi County

The Muge Family farm is situated on the slops of the Nandi Hills, Nandi County, in the West of Kenya. The 60 acre farm is mostly dedicated to Ruiri 11 and Batian varietals.

Rich & Robust

In the cup, expect the typical depth of a great Kenyan lot, with notes of blackcurrant, cola and a cocoa finish.

Washed

Ripe coffee cherries are picked, and sorted to remove any defects. They then pass through a depulper, where the flesh of the cherry is removed, leaving behind a sticky mucilage layer. Next, the beans are fermented, and the mucilage layer breaks down, leaving a clean coffee bean behind. The beans are then carefully dried, resulting in a clean-tasting coffee with natural sweetness and complexity.

Fruity Intensity

Fruity Intensity

We always think of Kenyan coffees as having a quality a bit like lemon curd - they’re bright and a little bit tangy, but they have a really pleasant body underpinning them which totally ties it all together.
