Inspired by our great friend John Cowan, we are taking off our steel toes and donning our runners, to raise money for the MS Society. Multiple sclerosis is an auto-immune disease that affects the nervous system, disrupting the brain’s ability to send signals to the rest of the body. It is estimated that there are more than 130,000 people in the UK diagnosed with MS (about one in 500).
Fuelled by a natural Ethiopian coffee, but not running as naturally as Ethiopian athletes, we’ll be setting off from The Granary in East Rounton and running all the way to our café, Bedford St. Coffee in Middlesbrough (exactly a half-marathon, it turns out).
From the start of Rounton Coffee John has been greatly supportive. Without a friend like John, Rounton Coffee wouldn’t be where it is today. His unerring positivity, sense of humour and belief in us is more energising than a double espresso. In some small way, we hope to raise a chunk of cash for the Tees & Esk branch of the MS Society and support John and those in our local area who are living with MS.
Here’s the link to our Just Giving page: https://bit.ly/2WTiud7 Please show your support and give what you can. Your donation will help those who are supported by the Tees & Esk branch of the MS society whilst inspiring us, like John does, to go the distance.
Thanks for all your support.
