A Taste of Ethiopia in Every Sip
Earlier this year, we had the honour of visiting Bekele Belacho’s family farm in Kokose, a small village nestled in the lush highlands of Sidama, Ethiopia. Surrounded by banana and avocado trees, we saw firsthand the love and labour that goes into each cherry picked from this land.

Bekele is a third-generation farmer, and his passion runs deep. While the bananas and avocados feed his family, it’s coffee that sustains them — and it truly shows.

Fruity, Refreshing, and Full of Heart
Kokose is everything we love in an Ethiopian natural: crisp, clean, and bursting with vibrant fruit. Expect juicy notes of pineapple, apricot, and lychee, making this an exceptionally refreshing brew — perfect for warmer days or a crisp pour-over served over ice.

This coffee means a lot to us — not just for its bright profile, but because we’ve stood on the farm, shared a cup with Bekele, and seen the story behind the beans.

Why We Love It:

  • ✨ Vibrant tropical flavours

  • 🌱 Sourced directly from the farmer

  • 💛 A meaningful relationship behind every bag

Kokose, Sidama

Nestled in the lush, fertile highlands of Sidama, at an elevation of 2300 meters above sea level in southern Ethiopia, Kokose is a small village known for producing some of the region’s most vibrant and expressive coffees. Perched at high altitude with rich volcanic soil and ideal rainfall, Kokose offers the perfect microclimate for cultivating exceptional heirloom coffee varieties.

A sweet and complex delight

Kokose bursts with tropical pineapple, followed by juicy apricot and delicate lychee. Its bright, fruity profile makes for an unforgettable cup.

Natural

The natural process demands skill and careful attention. Ripe coffee cherries are picked and spread out to ferment under the sun, being turned regularly to prevent mould growth. During fermentation, enzymatic reactions penetrate deep into the bean, resulting in a coffee with bold, complex flavours and a distinct, funky character.

Lively Intensity
