Nestled in the lush, fertile highlands of Sidama, at an elevation of 2300 meters above sea level in southern Ethiopia, Kokose is a small village known for producing some of the region’s most vibrant and expressive coffees. Perched at high altitude with rich volcanic soil and ideal rainfall, Kokose offers the perfect microclimate for cultivating exceptional heirloom coffee varieties.
Kokose bursts with tropical pineapple, followed by juicy apricot and delicate lychee. Its bright, fruity profile makes for an unforgettable cup.
The natural process demands skill and careful attention. Ripe coffee cherries are picked and spread out to ferment under the sun, being turned regularly to prevent mould growth. During fermentation, enzymatic reactions penetrate deep into the bean, resulting in a coffee with bold, complex flavours and a distinct, funky character.
Kokose's vibrant tropical flavours of pineapple, apricot and lychee create a lively and intense cup, ideal for anyone seeking a refreshing and bold coffee experience.
