Speciality coffee beans are high-quality coffees that scores 80 points or above on the Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) scale. These beans are carefully cultivated, processed and roasted to highlight their unique flavours and characteristics. Speciality coffee goes beyond just the beans - it involves precise farming, roasting and brewing techniques to ensure the best possible cup.

A question we get asked a lot! The key difference is quality and care at every stage. Speciality coffee is grown with attention to detail, processed meticulously, and graded highly for its flavour and consistency - which is why it’s more expensive. Regular coffee, on the other hand, often uses lower-grade beans, may contain defects, and lacks the same depth of flavour.

Read more about what speciality coffee means to us here.

Our speciality coffee beans are sustainably sourced from trusted farmers and cooperatives around the world. We prioritise ethical practices and are proud of the supply chain we have with our suppliers.

Our mission isn't just about bringing you proper coffee - It's about doing it sustainably and supporting the farmers and this is why we're a proud member of the 1% for the planet.

Each coffee is carefully processed at origin before being roasted at our North Yorkshire Roastery, bringing out its best flavours for you to enjoy.

Choosing the right coffee beans depends on your taste preferences. If you enjoy smooth and rich flavours, a Brazilian or Colombian coffee could be for you. For a fruity and zesty taste, try our African beans. Still unsure? Get in touch! Our team is always happy to help you find the perfect match.

Absolutely! Our speciality decaf coffee retains all the flavour without the caffeine. We use the Sparkling Water Decaf method, which preserves the natural taste of the beans - unlike traditional decaf processes that strip away flavour.

Yes! Our coffee subscription service ensures you never run out of your favourite coffee. You can customise your subscription to receive your preferred beans at regular intervals, whether that’s weekly, fortnightly, monthly or every two months. You can also add more coffee to your subscription to taste more of our range. If you haven't tried our coffees yet but would like too, join our coffee club, to get a variety of coffee sent through your letterbox!

To keep your coffee fresh for longer, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place - away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Avoid refrigerating your beans, as this can introduce condensation and affect the flavour. For the best taste, grind your beans just before brewing and enjoy within 3 months of roasting.
