Our Environmental Pledge:
“We are conscious of our impact on the planet. Our goal is to create positive environmental change and to constantly move towards fixing the things that we cannot yet achieve.”
What are we doing?
We’re introducing a coffee bag recycling scheme, which you can be a part of right now. By partnering with Terracycle, we’re able to take in your used coffee bags, and ensure that they are given a new lease of life, instead of going to landfill.
Why are we doing this?
One of the hardest things to get right as a coffee company is packaging. There’s a balance to be struck between keeping coffee well-packaged enough to stay fresh and making sure that the materials we use don’t harm our planet. We are working towards finding a long-term solution for our packaging, but in the meantime, we know we need to do something.
Our coffee bags have a foil lining, which means that they cannot be recycled at home. This has caused us a lot of upset and frustration, and made us ask the question – “are we really doing enough”?
The harsh reality is that – no – we haven’t been, and this partnership with Terracycle is how we’re hoping to change that.
How can I get involved?
Send us your bags! We will collect any clean, dry coffee bag you need to get rid of (they don’t have to be one of ours, either)! If we can help, just drop us a message at info@rountoncoffee.co.uk.
If you’re in the area, you can drop them off directly at the roastery. If not, our teams in our shops will be collecting bags too, and sending them over to us. If you visit another shop we supply, see if they’d be interested in collecting bags too! We’ll be able to collect from anywhere that we deliver coffee to. The power is in your hands to make the change if you want it.
If you’re Wholesale Partner, get in touch with Lawrence or Steve to arrange collection of any bags you’ve gathered!
