Kalingwe is back and better than ever! With its bold body and delicate hints of nectarine, raspberry and camomile, this coffee is sure to keep you coming back for more.

High in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, Kalingwe is home to a small community of 107 coffee farmers, organised into three groups. At altitudes reaching 2,000 meters, farmers hand-pick ripe red cherries, which are then transported to Agri Evolve’s processing station in Nyabirongo. There, the cherries are sun-dried on raised beds, showcasing the exceptional quality of naturally processed coffee from the Rwenzori region.

For every kilo sold, 60p goes directly to the ACE2030 project, supporting vital initiatives in Uganda’s Rwenzori mountains.

    Rwenzori Mountains

The Rwenzoris are situated in the West of Uganda, and are the home to all of our Ugandan coffees. Farmers in the area typically have 1-2 acres of land, and sell their ripe coffee cherry at washing stations managed by Agri Evolve.

    Bold & Fruity

Kalingwe is the perfect example of an African natural - with flavour notes of nectarine, raspberry and camomile, it's a fruity and sweet brew.

    Natural

The natural process requires skill and attention to get right. The ripe coffee cherry is picked and left out to ferment in the sun; it is turned regularly so that no mould grows. The enzymatic reactions that occur here sink right into the bean and leave you with a coffee that's fruity, bold and refreshing.

    Fruity Intensity

Naturally processed coffees have that heady funkiness that might not be your traditional idea of intense, but they're powerful and refreshing nonetheless. Kalingwe is a fine example of a clean, well-processed natural that shows off how complex coffee can be.
