How did you get into coffee?
My Gran giving me an instant coffee when I was 12.
What is your favourite part of working at Rounton Coffee?
I really enjoy being a part of every process here, from cupping to roasting to getting our quality product into customers' hands.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about coffee since you started working here?
The possibility of using fermenting fruit to flavour the coffee before the roast, and for that to pleasantly carry over to the cup.
What’s your favourite spot in North Yorkshire to relax or have a coffee?
On a sunny day anywhere in the Dales.
How do you drink yours?
Black and from a moka pot.
What is your favourite coffee origin, and why?
The Edinson Argote Gesha from Colombia, which we have previously produced, totally rewired my brain. It was like drinking flowers. Class.
What do you do away from coffee?
I play guitar and take photos with my camera. I’m also perpetually on a quest to find the perfect sandwich; I hope I never do.
