Both grinders use 98 mm cast steel burrs and deliver the same grinding performance, particle distribution and versatility. The main difference is size. The EK43S offers the performance of the EK43 in a smaller, space-saving body, making it a popular choice for cafés where counter space is limited. Both grinders can be used for espresso, filter coffee and Turkish coffee grinding.

Grind by Sync technology allows compatible Mahlkönig grinders to communicate with supported coffee machines using The Sync System. The grinder can automatically adjust burr distance based on brewing parameters and target extraction times, helping to deliver more repeatable and consistent coffee quality across shifts and locations.

The E80S and E80W GbS are the most suitable models for high-volume environments. The E80S is capable of producing up to six double shots per minute and features 80 mm burrs engineered for high-speed grinding. The E80W GbS combines similar output capability with Grind by Sync automation and Grind by Weight precision for cafés prioritising workflow optimisation.

Both offer exceptional consistency and precise grind adjustment, but the E80 models are optimised for maximum speed, capacity and heavy daily workloads.
