NEW DECAF
Lot 20 Coffee works directly with farmers in Kericho County to help them grow, process and export exceptional coffee. They also provide financial literacy training, quality seedlings, and ongoing agronomic support. We’re incredibly grateful to be able to showcase their first-ever decaf coffee.
Expect lots of bright citrus notes upfront, followed by a sweetness reminiscent of honeydew melon.
The “Sugar Cane Process” uses ethyl acetate as a solvent to extract caffeine from coffee. Ethyl acetate is a naturally occurring compound that is a by-product of sugar cane molasses fermentation. It is also found in fruits like bananas, apples and strawberries.
A cup full of pleasant acidity and low in bitterness, this decaf is a great expression of what Kenyan coffee has to offer, minus the caffeine.
