Banka Farm and the Banka Washing Station take their names from the two neighbouring villages, Banka Yi and Banka Er, located in the southwest of Yunnan, China.

Yunnan Coffee Traders oversee the operation of the wet mill and part of the farm. They are highly regarded as pioneers of China's speciality coffee sector, having installed one of the region's first optical sorting machines.

This naturally processed coffee delivers a layered and expressive cup. Expect a cherry-like sweetness and gentle tartness, complemented by soft nutty notes and a smooth caramel finish.

Mengalian Dai, Lahu and Va Autonomous County

Banka Farm and Washing Station is based in Mengalian Dai, Lahu and Va Autonomous County, Yunnan and is named after the two adjacent villages (Banka Yi and Banka Er).

Nutty & Sweet

Chinese coffees typically offer pleasant sweetness and fruitiness, with lower acidity and a fuller body. This lot certainly follows suit, delivering cherry sweetness alongside smooth, nutty notes.

Natural

After harvesting, cherries are fed through an optical colour sorter to remove any over / under ripe cherries and foreign material. Ripe cherries then undergo a temperature-controlled fermentation for two days, before being transferred to raised beds for drying.
