Why 1% for the Planet Matters
1% for the Planet is a global movement that connects businesses with environmental organisations to tackle some of the planet's most pressing challenges. Since its inception, the initiative has certified over £548 million in environmental giving, ensuring that contributions go directly toward impactful projects.
By pledging 1% of our annual sales, we’re part of a global network of businesses that are investing in the health of the planet. But for us, it’s not just about contributing - it’s about ensuring that every cup of coffee we serve has a positive impact beyond the cup.
Supporting causes close to home
As a North Yorkshire-based company, we’re passionate about protecting the environment around us. Through our partnership with 1% for the Planet, we’ve had the privilege of supporting incredible organisations that align with our values and work tirelessly to protect and restore the natural world.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust
Working to protect and restore Yorkshire’s wild places, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is ensuring that local wildlife can thrive. As well as supporting the charity under the 1% for the Planet pledge, we have since become corporate supporters, helping safeguard habitats and create safe spaces for wildlife to flourish across the region.
Ouseburn Trust
Promoting the sustainable management and preservation of Newcastle's Ouseburn Valley is Ouseburn Trust, where we've had the opportunity to volunteer and give back to the local community. Our continued support strengthens their efforts to protect this historic area, fostering a vibrant and sustainable future for the Ouseburn Valley.
Ribble Rivers Trust
Ribble Rivers Trust is focused on improving water quality, habitat and biodiversity in the Ribble catchment area. Our corporate partnership support helps them restore local rivers, reduce pollution and create healthier ecosystems, ensuring that future generations can enjoy cleaner, thriving waterways.
North York Moors Trust
Dedicated to conserving the unique landscapes and biodiversity of the North York Moors National Park. Our partnership with North York Moors Trust helps preserve these treasured landscapes, supporting initiatives that protect the park’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. We recently had the pleasure of planting 10 mature apple and plum trees in the Hole of Horcum with the trust.
By strengthening our relationships with these incredible organisations, we’re ensuring that our contribution goes directly toward making a lasting impact where it’s needed most.
