In case you didn’t know, our love for coffee goes beyond the cup. It’s about the people who grow it, the communities it sustains and the environment that makes it all possible. As a proud member of 1% for the Planet, we’re committed to supporting national and local initiatives that make a real difference.
But a little further afield, we’re proud to support Agri Evolve’s ACE 2030 programme - an initiative in Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains that focuses on agriculture, community and the environment.
Making an impact, one kilo at a time
Through our partnership with Rwenzori Coffee Co., we’ve been able to source exceptional Ugandan coffee while directly contributing to the future of the region. For every kilogram of Ugandan coffee that you buy, we donate 60p to ACE 2030 - with 40p funding tree planting and 20p supporting community infrastructure projects.
Since we began this initiative, our contributions have continued to grow, thanks to you choosing and loving our Ugandan coffee offerings.
Our contributions to Agri Evolve and ACE 2030 so far…
By the end of January 2025, we had contributed over £14,500 to ACE 2030 – what an incredible milestone! This was the result of buying over 24.26 tonnes of coffee since July 2021. Here’s what that support has achieved:
- - 21,865 trees planted
- - £5,831 supporting infrastructure projects
More than just coffee
The additional funding generated through our coffee purchases has played a role in improving livelihoods and protecting the environment in the Rwenzoris. With every tree planted, the community is working towards a more resilient and sustainable future, helping to prevent soil erosion, restore ecosystems and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Meanwhile, the funds allocated to community initiatives have contributed to vital infrastructure projects such as water boreholes, vocational training for young people and emergency support during crises like flooding.
