The Rwenzoris are situated in the West of Uganda, and are the home to all of our Ugandan coffees. Farmers in the area typically have 1-2 acres of land, and sell their ripe coffee cherry at washing stations managed by Agri Evolve.
Rwenzori Mountains
Sweet & Complex
Mbata has all the hallmarks of a great African natural - with notes of black tea and apricot, it's up there with the best of them.
Natural
Mbata is a village in one of the many valleys in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Ripe, red coffee cherries are harvested daily during the harvest season and taken to be processed. The cherries are weighed, assessed for quality and the farmers are paid in cash.

Fruity Intensity
Naturally processed coffees have that heady funkiness that might not be your traditional idea of intense, but they're powerful nonetheless. Mbata is a fine example of a clean, well processed natural that shows off how complex coffee can be.

ACE 2030
AGRICULTURE, COMMUNITY, ENVIRONMENT
We're working closely with Agri Evolve, the people behind our Ugandan coffee. By pledging an additional 60p per kilo of green coffee we buy, we will be supporting their ACE 2030 project, a 10-year plan emphasising the integral link between agriculture, community and the environment.
As well as planting a tree for each kilo sold, the coffee you buy also supports various community projects, including supporting a local school and helping young mothers start their own businesses, after leaving school early.
