Ethiopia - Rocko Mountain

Blueberry, Strawberry, Cream

Where to begin with Rocko Mountain? For many of us, this is the one that made us question what coffee could be. With a pungent, floral aroma and a big hit of booze, Rocko Mountain is impressive before you've even brewed it.

Haricha Woreda, Godeo Zone

Yirgacheffe is both a town and grade of coffee in Ethiopia. The town itself is located in the Gedeo zone in the Southern Nations and Nationalities Peoples Regional State (SNNPRS) in Southern Ethiopia. More than any other country, Ethiopia has a broad genetic diversity among its coffee varieties, with each type having distinctive taste, shape and colour.

A Flavour Bomb

Juicy berry notes, delicate florals and a creamy body makes Rocko so special. Over the years, it's proven to be one of our most popular coffees, for its complexity and unmistakable funkiness.

If you're looking for a knockout filter coffee, look no further. Rocko also makes a pretty wild espresso, if you can tame it...

Natural

The natural process requires skill and attention to get right. The ripe coffee cherry is picked and left out to ferment in the sun,  turned regularly so that no mould grows. The enzymatic reactions that occur here sink right into the seed (or bean), and leave you with a coffee that's full of funkiness and complexity.

The process historically was common in places with less water available, but you'll see it all over the world these days, in producer's quests to find wild results in their lots.

Fruity Intensity

Fruity Intensity

Naturally processed coffees have that heady funkiness that can redfine the meaning of 'intense'. Rocko shows just how wild a natural coffee can be - it needs to be tasted to be believed!

Girls Gotta Run

Investing in Girls Through Running

In Ethiopia, 95% of girls begin their education but only 10% complete through 12th grade. Girls Gotta Run Foundation (GGRF) is a foundation that aims to change this, by investing in the future of young girls in Ethiopia. Proceeds from the sale of this coffee go to supporting GGRF.

As girls enter adolescence, they are more likely to drop out of school as a result of a diverse range of issues, including early marriage, early pregnancy, increased responsibilities at home, increased cost of school, food insecurity, limited access to hygiene facilities, sexual harassment and assault, gender bias, conflict, child labor, and lack of quality education for girls.

However, each year of education a girl completes catalyzes change for her future, her family, and her community. Education for girls means income, health, and agency for girls and their communities.
